Norderstedt / San Francisco, Feb. 6, 2024 +++ ScaleHub, a managed crowdsourcing service for automated document processing, announced the appointment of Mike Riegel as their new CEO.
Before joining ScaleHub, Riegel served as CEO of ScoutAPM, where he drove its repositioning and growth. Prior to that, he led startup crowdsourcing-adjacent CloudFactory to a tenfold revenue gain in just four years. “ScaleHub has brilliant technology and a fantastic team of experienced experts,” he noted. “I am thrilled to join their diverse, international team to further build on the growth and success of recent years.”
Riegel has more than 25 years of experience in leadership positions in the high-tech industry, serving in a variety of executive capacities at tech giants IBM and Cisco, while also playing an integral role at several startup and growth-focused companies. With extensive expertise in managed services and crowd workforce solutions, he is an ideal addition to ScaleHub’s management team.
“The technological advancements in AI are tremendous, and I am confident that this, along with the unique integration of human intelligence at scale, presents great opportunities for ScaleHub,” said Riegel. “The solution’s underlying software is truly impressive and it’s great to see how clients put it to use and capitalize on it. BPOs and enterprises with heavy document processing and a need for speed, accuracy, scalability and data privacy are seeing great success with our solutions.”
Mike plans to focus the organization’s efforts on further accelerating our growth and partner network across the European Union, the United States, Australia, and the Middle East.
Former CEO and co-founder Olaf Malchow retires but will join advisory board
ScaleHub co-founder and outgoing CEO, Olaf Malchow, will continue to support the organization as an advisory board member. As Managing Director of ScaleHub Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG., Olaf feels confident about the future: “I have carried out the role of CEO with joy and dedication over the past seven years. Together, we have transformed a small startup into a globally operating medium-sized company. Now, it is time to pass the baton.”
“Of course, this marks a turning point for the company,” continues Malchow. “We are delighted that with Mike we have found a perfect match for the position.”
“Choosing a CEO to succeed a founder requires harmony of vision, precise operational execution, and a deep understanding of the company’s culture to deliver the next phase growth,” noted Thomas Rubens, Partner at ScaleHub investor DN Capital. “The ScaleHub management team has found that right mix of experience and expertise in Mike. I am confident that he, along with the entire team, will build upon all the success to date and accelerate growth in the U.S. and beyond.”
