VRC UPLOADS SCANNED IMAGES TO THE SCALEHUB PORTAL:

Each box, containing roughly 10,000 tickets, is scanned into VRC’s system and automatically picked up by ScaleHub’s managed service.

FIELD EXTRACTION:

AI and OCR take a “first pass” at extracting data from the three required fields on the delivery ticket. Additionally, images of the three fields are pulled from the document, a process ScaleHub calls snippeting.

SNIPPETING & CROWD VALIDATION:

The field images, or snippets, are then distributed to public crowd contributors who perform data entry of what they see in the image. Snippeting ensures data is protected as contributors only see one piece of information, never with full context. OCR results are compared to crowd contributor data entry results. Matches are confirmed as accurate, while mismatches are sent to a tie-breaker crowd contributor. In this way, ScaleHub is able to guarantee >99% data accuracy.

Unreadable documents, missing fields, and other exceptions are reviewed and managed by VRC in an easy-to-use exception queue.
