Field data extraction & snippeting:
AI-based OCR takes a “first pass” at extracting data from the two required fields on the exam sheets. Results like names are automatically validated against existing name databases. In addition, images of the fields are extracted from the document, a process ScaleHub calls snippeting. Field snippeting ensures data is protected as contributors only see one piece of information, never with full context.
Data Entry & Validation:
The field snippets are then distributed to a worldwide network of crowd contributors who perform data entry of what they see in the image. AI-based OCR results are compared to crowd contributor data entry results. Matches are confirmed as accurate, while mismatches are sent to a tie-breaker crowd contributor. In this way, ScaleHub is able to guarantee >99% data accuracy.
